The Mt. Shasta Race Association along with the Mt. Shasta Ski & Snowboard Team hosts local ski and snowboard race competitions along with summer bike events.  As a non-profit organization we also organize some really great fundraisers during the season.  Scroll down to check out our upcoming events. Community races are open to other ski teams and the public. Information about any of these races may be obtained by contacting us using the information at the bottom of this page. When race registration opens we will send out a newsletter and put up a registration page for each event on this website.  Check back with us about a week before the race.

  • This race is in part to honor a very important member of our skiing and racing community who has passed on. Paul Gianera was a longtime ski coach of the Mt. Shasta Ski Team and he took great pride in coaching young athletes to be strong skiers. He is greatly missed and so in this way, we honor his life by bringing together our ski racing community for a day of fun racing. The race is open to the whole community and is an awesome way to test your skills against the clock and your fellow skiers.

  • MSST athletes in the All Mtn. Ski & Freeride, Regional and Far West Programs have free entry.

  • In case of race cancellation your race fee will be refunded minus a 3% transaction fee (about 75 cents).

March 9th

This is a first race opportunity for our Starters Ski Team. It's loads of fun to watch with parents and siblings cheering on from the finish line. This race is not open to the public, but we invite everyone to come watch the action from the finish line at the foot of Horizon ski run by our Team building.

  • This race is in part to honor a very important member of our skiing and racing community who has passed on. Phil Holecek was one of the founding members of the Mt. Shasta Ski Park and valued ski racing in our community as a means for bringing folks together and for cultivating a ski town vibe. His is greatly missed and so in this way, we honor his life by bringing together our ski racing community for a weekend of fun racing. The race is open to the whole community and is an awesome way to test your skills against the clock and your fellow skiers.

  • Helmets and goggles are required for all MSRA events.

The “Over the Hill Classic”

April 6th 2024

Not a racer? Want to see what it’s like to run a Giant Slalom course? This is a fun race for ages 50 and over. We’re setting a course that is guaranteed to make you feel 20 years younger! Trust us, you’ll like it. Afterwards the survivors can all tell stories and have a beverage...or two.

Go to the very back of your closet & dig out your finest for this race. Besides all the FUN of this event, it is also a noble cause, as it is a fundraising event for the Mt. Shasta Race Association and Mt. Shasta Ski Team.

The course will be a fun two-run Giant Slalom. Entry fee is TBD and benefits the MSRA and Ski Team. Registration opens soon.

This is the infamous Gene Landsman “SUPER SLALOM” (and please don’t ask us what a “Super Slalom” is! Enter it and you will find out!). It is a Slalom, but maybe with a few tricks for you to figure out. After all we all need to exercise your brain beside your body! Awards, Auction, humongous raffle and swag sale will be on the Ski Park Patio. Again, don’t forget your wallet! This is a fundraiser for the Mt Shasta Ski and Snowboard Team Coaches Education Fund.
