This is a first race opportunity for our Starters Ski Team. It's loads of fun to watch with parents and siblings cheering on from the finish line. This race is not open to the public, but we invite everyone to come watch the action from the finish line at the foot of Horizon ski run by our Team building.

  • This race is in part to honor two very important members of our skiing and racing community who have passed on. Paul Gianera was a longtime ski coach of the Mt. Shasta Ski Team and he took great pride in coaching young athletes to be strong skiers. Phil Holecek was one of the founding members of the Mt. Shasta Ski Park and valued ski racing in our community as a means for bringing folks together and for cultivating a ski town vibe. They are both greatly missed and so in this way, we honor their lives by bringing together our ski racing community for a weekend of fun racing. The race is open to the whole community and is an awesome way to test your skills against the clock and your fellow skiers.

  • The course set will be a Giant Slalom on Saturday, February 9th and a fantastic Slalom on Sunday February 10th.  Entry fee for each race is $25.

  • Check-in will be in the lower lodge from 8am - 9am day of race.  Racers may register then or be kind to our staff by pre-registering through our new registration system TeamSnap.

Ski-A-Thon

The Ski-A-Thon is our main fundraiser of the year and is very important for us to be able to continue providing low-cost, high-quality programs. Our skiers and riders collect donations from the community in the form of pledges which earn money for each run down the mountain completed during the event.

Please be sure to remind your kids to get out and get donations from family, friends and community members. There will be a variety of prizes for top fundraisers. Some of the prizes we currently have are $200 off program fees for next year, a season pass to the Ski Park, a tune from Vinnie at Just Tunes and tunes from Redding Sports LTD. We will be having a barbecue and celebrating a great season. I would like to get a group picture that day as well. We will need volunteers, so if you haven't signed up for the event on signup.com, please do so. As always, if you have questions about volunteering please contact Henrik at henrikkarlsson@charter.net

The event will begin at 8 AM and go for 2 hours. Please arrive between 7:15 and 7:45 to sign in and get your child's bib. Donation sheets will be required to be turned in when you register. Funds raised will be due by the following Saturday, March 9th. If you have any questions call 530.859.3700 or write alyssawink@mtshastaskiteam.com.
