Volunteer Forms

The Mt Shasta Ski and Freeride teams rely heavily on parent volunteers to make all our programs and events possible. The amount of work involved in putting on a race or other event is huge, and we can't do it without your help. For this reason, we require parents of athletes to complete a certain number of volunteer hours per season. The system is based on a set number of volunteer credits, with one credit roughly equivalent to 4-5 hours volunteered. Some essential tasks (such as gatekeeping) are rewarded with higher credit (that is, less hours per volunteer credit). Volunteer work requirements for the 2009-2010 season are:* (July to July)

Regional and Far West Families: 5 credits for one athlete, 8 credits for more than one athlete.

Developmental Families: 2 credits for one athlete, 3 credits for more than one athlete

A volunteer credit is equal to approximately 4 to 5 hours volunteered

The goal is to put together enough volunteer assignments/credits to add to the number of credits needed. To track your volunteer credits, use the Volunteer and Fundraising form found below. Volunteers are highly encouraged to sign in with their Unit Team Leader or Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that they get credit. Volunteer positions are not final until confirmed by the Volunteer Coordinator.

You can check the current Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet to see where the team needs your help, or to check what you've already signed up for. Email us at mtshastaskiteam@gmail.com to sign up to help, or sign up on the Volunteer Sign up sheet at Saturday check-in.

Families may elect to voluntarily forfeit their work deposits ($200 for Regional and Far West families, $100 for Development program families) in lieu of volunteering throughout the season.

Please fill out this Volunteer and Fundraising Form to keep track of your volunteer and fundraising efforts. When you have met your obligations, return the form to:
